Last night our team travelled to Saline for our last game of the season. We were very happy that we got to play one last game together before the season ended. With our hopes high, we went into this game excited to play our best no matter what. Our goal was to get rebounds, run our plays, and try to score points wherever we could. With skilled defenders, it was difficult to get open for shots. We were down 11-3 at the end of the first quarter. With some redirection, our team was able to get back on track a little bit with our own defense, but because of the quickness of the other team, we lacked communication on switching defenders and many shots were left open for them to take. However, we did not let this get us down. We ended the second quarter 25-12. In the locker room at half time, we decided to try our press break, double the amount of rebounds we had at the half,  to score wherever we could, have fun with it, and do the little things that help our team mesh. We came out with a new mindset of getting the opportunity to play a great team and see how we measure up against them. With all of the skills we have gathered over the season, we were able to hold our own against this team, and we never gave up. We ended the third quarter 39-16. In the last quarter, we fought our hardest through some tough calls, no calls, and our trail in score to get to the end. We held our heads high because not only did we meet our half time goals, but we did pretty great against Saline’s talented JV team. We ended the game 48-23. Although our Panthers took a sad loss in their last game, they were grateful to have one more opportunity to play a good and challenging team. All around our Freshman Girls Team dominated the court. We ended our season 11-5 and 7-0 in the conference, taking a conference championship win! Congratulate these ladies on a wonderful season and encourage our other teams as they continue their seasons!
